Designed by AIA-renowned architects, Kieran Timberlake and built by LivingHomes, this pre-fabricated, modular home is the first of its kind to reside in Orange County. It was originally installed at the 2009 Ted Conference and was designed/staged by Kristin Kilmer Design, Inc. with the participation of various sustainable, local artists,designers and corporate sponsors. This updated design is a co-creative effort between the new owners and KKD which focuses on sustainability through the use of responsibly fabricated custom furnishings and accessories, and also fulfills the family’s personal needs and desired beach home aesthetic. The beds are FSC-certified maple with non-toxic finishes that flat pack for easy mobility. They even contain storage underneath to meet the demands of a growing family. All wood pieces were designed with clean, classic lines for added longevity and many “eco” fabrics such as allergen-free organic hemp and cotton are used in the bedding and seating to maintain a healthy home.
